Six-Step Relational Database Design™ Second Edition

Six Step Relational Database Design™ :: The Second Edition

After rave reviews of the first edition's simplicity, ease of use, and excellent visual style, the second edition of Six-Step Relational Database Design™ will be published in the next few weeks and available for purchase and download on May 27th.

The second edition contains a new chapter on implementation that goes through the steps necessary to implement each of the case studies on a relational database management system, clearly relating the design to implementation and database theory.

Topics covered include ACID compliance, normalization, cascade updates and cascade deletes, indexes, and data types, with each of these topic areas describing the necessary implementation considerations. In addition, questions are also included at the end of each of the six steps and one of the previous case studies has been replaced, making the case study selection more diverse.

Six Step Relational Database Design™

This book is dedicated to structuring and simplifying the database design process, outlining a simple but reliable six-step process for accurately modelling user data, leading to a sturdy and reliable relational database.

There are many books on the market on database theory, database modelling, and database implementation. However, there are few books that give a simple, step-by-step, easy to follow, and precise technique for designing a relational database that results in a sturdy, reliable and accurate data model that can be implemented on any relational database platform. This book bridges the gaps between database theory and database modelling, and between database modelling and database implementation.

Welcome

Welcome to my website! If you know me or have heard about me, and you are interested in soliciting my skills or services, you have come to the right place to find out more about me.

Here you can find out about:

  • » The consulting services that I offer.

Mission in Life

To be successful in anything that I endeavour to do, personal or professional, and to apply myself and my knowledge as best as I can to any situation, personal or professional, in a manner that will lead to a positive and productive outcome.

I treat every challenge as an opportunity to succeed, knowing that well done is better than well said - great men are first remembered for what they did, then for what they said. So, I will do first and speak after, knowing that my actions through what I have done will speak for me, both before and after me.

Vision for Life

To retire at fifty, or at least be able to retire at fifty, then travel the world experiencing the richness and diversity of this beautiful planet we call home - Earth. After this I would spend the rest of my life sharing my experiences with the younger ones telling them of the joy and splendor of life, warning them of its pitfalls, and imparting knowledge of the sciences, religion, and cultures.

Someone once said that the only way to achieve immortality is by passing on knowledge. It is my hope that before I die to have some specific bit of knowledge that can be attributed to me passed on to the next generation, so that my flame is kept alive for a thousand years

Lessons from Life

One of the most important lessons that I have learnt from life is that you must work for whatever you want. Through hard work and dedication you can achieve whatever it is you want to achieve in life. What I have also learnt is that life is not fair, so don' t expect it to be fair. Some people have more luck than others, some are given more chances than others, and some have more opportunities than others. You just have to use what you are give to achieve what you want to achieve, and with hard work and dedication you will make it there.
